Connect: The Language of Touch Workshop

Touch can communicate comfort, care, affection, hesitation, pressure, or disconnection—often before we ever say a word.

Join Health in Tandem and Aaron Gunn Wellness for a two-hour experiential workshop designed to help individuals better understand touch as a form of communication, regulation, and connection.

Led by Hannah Wojda, LCPC, and Aaron Gunn, LMT, this workshop will explore consent, pacing, nervous system safety, body awareness, pressure, intention, and feedback through guided education and structured exercises.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Notice physical and emotional responses to different forms of touch

  • Identify what feels comfortable, supportive, or overwhelming

  • Practice communicating preferences and boundaries clearly

  • Learn language for offering feedback and requesting adjustments

  • Explore how pacing, pressure, and intention affect the experience of touch

  • Practice safe, non-sexual touch in a supportive environment

All touch-based exercises will be structured and supervised. Comfortable, loose-fitting, non-revealing clothing is recommended.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop may be a good fit for you if you:

  • Want to better understand your comfort, preferences, and boundaries around touch

  • Feel unsure how to ask for changes, decline touch, or communicate when something does not feel right

  • Are neurodivergent or have sensory sensitivities that affect how you experience touch

  • Work in healthcare, caregiving, massage, bodywork, movement, or another profession where touch is part of your role

  • Want to become more aware of nonverbal cues, consent, pacing, pressure, and nervous system safety

  • Want to feel more confident giving and receiving non-sexual touch in everyday relationships
