Our Office Space

Something we are really proud of here at Health in Tandem is our office space! We wanted it to be a very calming, inviting, and refreshing environment as we know that the space we surround ourselves in can have an impact on our mental health. Our vision for this space was to be orderly, crisp, and clean while still being soothing and relaxing.

We focused on sensory soothing aspects in this space such as how much of our shared space is naturally lit from our large windows. We have dimmer more yellow lighting in the office spaces as we wanted to steer clear of any harsh fluorescent tones that gave a more stale feel. We wanted it to be pleasant from an auditory perspective as well so we incorporated a speaker to play calming music in the lobby. Our sound machines have more of a wave/ocean sound versus white noise which can be too stimulating. Our spaces were intended to be comfy cozy with pillows, soft cushions and blankets to encourage a homey and pleasant tactile experience.

From a decorating perspective we wanted to incorporate the classic more calming colors like our sage and light blue room. Something we also had fun with was incorporating more vibrant colors like our navy and pink rooms which weren’t designed with the typical “therapy touch” in mind but rather what we as clinicians thought would be stimulating and show some of our personality!

We know coming into a new environment and space can be uncomfortable and anxiety provoking so much thought went into cultivating a welcoming waiting room. If you’ve sat in our two big comfy pillow chairs, you know what we are talking about! They quite literally envelope you in and are hard to not feel at ease in. We have a coffee/tea/water station as well as some chocolates and mints- some of clients’ favorite touches and one we often get feedback on!

Our large group/yoga/play therapy room is a very hopeful space for us and a versatile one in all that we can offer in this room. We love the natural lighting and utilization of greenery to make this a warm space that our clients can use to meditate in before or after a session. We see ourselves providing group therapy or yoga in this space as well as where we often meet as a team! We have an abundance of play therapy materials and fidget toys so that all of our clients’ needs are met!

More than anything, we wanted this to be a space where not only our clients but our clinicians felt excited about coming to and we feel very proud of the result! Let us know your favorite part of the office or provide us any suggestions on how we could take it to the next level!
